The blog is a collection of wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
This gorgeous summer Mountain View Turnout Elopement took place under the peaks of the Teton mountains. The wedding couple was referred to me by their wedding planner Grand Teton Events. If you are looking for a wedding planner in the Jackson Hole area, I highly recommend Jeanette. She is highly organized and knows so many of the best vendors. And if you’re looking for a Jackson Hole Wedding Photographer, I’m your gal!
The wedding was officiated by Cindy Dahlin, who is one of my favorite recommendations for couples who are interested in a ceremony that is religious, non-religious, or somewhere in between! The couple met in Dallas, so their first dance was to “Texas Sun” by Leon Bridges. It was such a fun and unique song choice! Thank you Amy & Carl for allowing me to be part of your special day!
Grand Teton National Park limited ceremonies to 6 site specific areas that could accommodate guests. So, this was my first wedding at this particular location. I have photographed couples at a similar location in the park, but the views are slightly different. This Mountain View Turnout elopement was fairly private in the respect that people don’t stay very long. They come to take a few pictures then leave. There is traffic driving by which can be distracting on occasion, but overall it was a really location to add to my portfolio.
Both times I’ve photographed a wedding at this location, we’ve had questionable weather. Luckily, both times, the rains and storms have held off long enough for us to complete the ceremony and portraits before chasing us out. Our original plan with Amy & Carl was to go to to another location near by, and then one further out. Because of the path of the storm, we had to change gears a bit and use different locations than planned, but it was all worth it!
I always appreciate couples flexibility on their big day! We do our best to plan out what the ideal situation looks like, but sometimes we have to fly by the seat of our pants and make new plans. This is one of the reasons I think it’s so important to hire someone local to Jackson Hole to document your wedding day. We know multiple locations we can use as backup if weather requires things to change.
