PLANNING THE PROPOSAL

Allen messaged me with a plan to surprise his girlfriend Kristin with a proposal at Grand Teton National Park. They traveled from Colorado for a weekend getaway together and it was perfect timing to ‘pop the question’! The week before, we chatted about locations in GTNP and around Jackson Hole that would offer them the engagement photos they desired. It’s no easy feat planning the timing and how to keep the proposal a surprise.

HOW HE ASKED

He knew she would love a location that had water and the mountains in the background and after deliberation we settled on the Leigh Lake access. He planned to casually ask us take a cell phone photo of them. Well the day came and I was a bundle of nerves waiting for them! He came and asked my husband to snap a photo of them on his phone and my hubs Ryan started recording as I started taking photos on my camera. I can’t vouch for how well the video turned out, but I loved capturing these engagement photos for them! How thoughtful of him to hire a photographer for the proposal! Even if it WAS heavily hinted at. Men, take heed that a little extra planning earns you big brownie points!

SHE SAID YES

After four years of dating,  she of course said “YES!”. It was windy and I couldn’t hear a lot of the words, but Kristin later told me she said, “you’re supposed to put the ring on my finger” when he didn’t take it out of the box right away. He promptly replied something like, “Well, I’ve never proposed before!” It was funny and perfectly in the moment. After he proposed, I gave them a few minutes to themselves and then they went and changed into another outfit (y’all Allen REALLY planned ahead!). We took more engagement photos with them around the lake and in the trees.
