Stephanie and Travis celebrated 11 years of marriage this year! To celebrate their anniversary, they opted to get all dressed up and have a photoshoot. We planned to shoot their anniversary/bridal session in Island Park, Idaho. Stephanie ordered a new dress off of Amazon and it was so beautiful. I’ve been so impressed by the options available online for my brides! Travis got a new suit and looked amazing in it. I love how timeless gray suits are. His lavender shirt was a pop of color in a non-traditional way, which was perfect for their anniversary portraits.
The day of our photoshoot, the weather was looking so crazy. We decided to keep our session since our schedules didn’t have another day that would work anytime soon. I have always heard rumors about Idaho weather and how unpredictable it is. I’ve seen plenty of unpredictable weather in my 12 years of living in Rexburg, Idaho, but this was a first! In all my years as a wedding photographer in Idaho and Wyoming, I have never had it snow this late in the year.
Our session took place on June 8th and it snowed! Straight up blizzard. On the way up to Island Park, I passed two police cars with their caution lights on to warn travelers, and also saw a car that had run off the road. I hate driving in the snow, and definitely had not planned on doing so in June! When we met up at Mack’s Inn, the snow was the worst! We decided to drive back south in hopes of outrunning the storm. It caught us a few times, but made for incredible photos at the beginning of our session. Luckily, we outran the snow and found the cutest spot for the rest of our photos. I loved taking these photos in Island Park for this intimate anniversary celebration!
