I am so excited to be sharing Emily and Darian’s Spring Bridals today! Springtime can be really tricky in Idaho, but we were blessed with incredible weather for their session. Covid-19 changed this couple’s wedding plans, but the didn’t let that stop them from celebrating this spring. Read on to hear how their love story began and how Covid-19 changed their wedding plans. Scroll down to view their gorgeous Spring Bridals at Labelle Lake and the Idaho Falls Greenbelt!
Their relationship began as many do these days, a dating app! Darian and Emily picked out two favorite options for wedding rings and he let the final decision on rings be a surprise! Leading up to the proposal, Darian did multiple set ups to trick Emily into thinking that THAT day was when it would happen!
Of the night he finally popped the question, Darian said, “The night that I proposed, I made her a picnic dinner that we ate over candlelight and then we headed back to my place. In front of my doorstep, I proposed as every step in our relationship and many of our deep and real conversations happened near there.”
Initially planning to marry later in the summer, Emily and Darian decided to move up their date and quarantine together. In just a few weeks, their family and friends came together and made an intimate wedding celebration happen! They had planned to marry in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, but it has been closed for several weeks. The couple will still have a temple ceremony when it reopens!
They had a small ceremony in the bride’s mother’s backyard. The couple shared it with their loved ones via a Zoom meeting. Emily shared, “My favorite part of the wedding day was the brunch we had with our family after the ceremony. Even though Darian’s family couldn’t make it up here, we were able to have a video chat with his parents, and it was so fun!”
The groom’s favorite part was “when we said I do to each other as we looked into one another eyes.” Such a romantic!
Each time I have the opportunity to photograph an event at LaBelle Lake, I soak it in. This is one of the most gorgeous outdoor wedding venues in the area! I reached out to LaBelle Lake after trying to find places that didn’t just look dead and wintry during the beautiful spring! They were generous enough to allow us to come out and do a portion of these portraits on their property. The property has grass that was greening up, stunning duck ponds, a beautiful bridge, and a grand rustic cabin. Spring at LaBelle Lake is breathtaking!
This is where Emily and Darian had their first look. It was one of the most genuine first looks I’ve ever seen, and was just packed full of love. First looks are always a favorite around here!
We knew they wanted to include the temple in some photos. However, with the temple grounds access closed, we photographed their couple portraits at the Idaho Falls Greenbelt. Situated across the river from the temple, we were able to incorporate the temple into several images. The river is really high this time of year and made for a very full and beautiful waterfall! I have photographed other couples in this location and it never disappoints.
