The blog is a collection of wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
I have been sitting on these photos for months now! It’s time to share these images from a shoot I attended in February. These images showcase two beautiful brides with loads of same-sex elopement inspiration! Sharing details that are rustic, trendy, and timeless in all the right ways. One of our brides, Karli, has some tattoos I immediately knew I wanted to feature her ink. I posed her so they were visible in her individual bridal portraits. You can see more of this tattooed bride by scrolling down!
First, Just a note: This is a styled shoot. Styled shoots are meant for educational and fun purposes and allow photographers to practice new techniques and posing. For this styled shoot, two females are modeling together as a same-sex couple. They are not married, nor in a relationship with each other. Nonetheless, they were kind enough to model together last minute so that the photographers attending the shoot could practice posing a same-sex couple. We don’t get very many opportunities around here to add same-sex elopement and wedding photography to our portfolios. In an effort to be as genuine and real in my posts as I would hope from others, I felt that was important to share. Above all, I’m looking forward to working with a genuine LGBTQ couple in the future!
The Avenues is an indoor wedding venue in Rexburg, Idaho. It has stunning farmhouse vibes and displays clean bright white shiplap and barn doors. The Avenues recently moved locations and spent months renovating their space to make it trendy and welcoming. They did an excellent job, and gave it a beautiful rustic and classic feel. As you can see from this couple’s shoot to the styled shoot of another couple, the space can be used for a more charming feel to a very elegant and classic one! Much of the wedding decor was provided by the venue, with added elements from Wedding and Party Exchange.
Lastly, several wedding vendors came together to make this styled shoot possible. I want to send a quick shout out to the time each of them took to put it together! Atkin Arrangements designed the the lilac and violet wedding bouquet. Crystal wore a lacy longsleeve dress from Circle of Love. Her spray tan was applied by Healthy Glow by Bethany. The strapless flowy dress that Karli wore was purchased from The Dress Shop Rigby during one of their $10 sales! Since each of the brides are independent makeup artists, they did their own bridal looks. Their hair was styled by the ladies at Perf Scherf Parlour , who just opened a new salon off center street this winter!
Thank you everyone who helped put this shoot on!
