Allie and AJ’s wedding was the stuff of dreams! They were originally supposed to be married in Italy. I’m glad that a destination elopement in the Teton mountains were a pretty good consolation prize. I don’t think people realize entirely how epic the Tetons are when they see them in pictures. Seeing those mountains in person really makes you realize how magnificent that range is. Allie was in absolute awe of how incredible the Tetons were. There was a lot of smoke in the area on their wedding day, so the Tetons were not as visible as they normally are. Luckily, it was still a magical day for Allie and AJ.
Allie had her hair and makeup done by Kelly Renee in Jackson Hole before we all met up for the first look at the Wedding Tree. This was the coolest first look that I think I’ve ever done. AJ’s attire was a complete surprise to Allie and vice versa, so we decided to make sure that the first look was a first look for both of them. AJ hid behind a tree while we got Allie situated. Then they took a short walk towards each other where they could soak in the moment.
After taking their portraits at the Wedding Tree, we headed to Schwabacher’s Landing- where they had their wedding ceremony. Allie’s sister officiated the wedding, which created a lot of personal touches that were really special to Allie and AJ. Both the bride’s and the groom’s best friends were in attendance. Schwabacher’s Landing has one of my favorite views of the Teton mountains because it’s so iconic.
One detail Allie wanted in her pictures were aspen trees. Prior to their wedding, Allie and I talked about taking pictures near Driggs, Idaho (on the west side of the Teton mountain range) because that’s where they were staying. Luckily, I had come across a location that would be closer to where they were having their destination elopement! I had previously hiked a beautiful trail in Grand Teton National Park that boasted both aspen trees and water tumbling over rocks with a bridge above the water. Ever since I hiked that trail, I’ve been wanting to take some couples’ pictures there. Allie and I decided to make this our last stop for their elopement photos, and the location did not disappoint us!
After pictures were finished, the couple and their friends returned to their private Airbnb in Driggs, Idaho. Allie and AJ’s guests left early to return to their lodging and set up the beautiful feast from Three Peaks Catering. How dreamy and magical is this destination elopement set up?
