Last summer I hiked into an alpine lake and photographed Keny proposing to his girlfriend Kayla. They had traveled to Texas and wanted to take advantage of the beautiful that Grand Teton National Park had to offer. Keny and I planned to photograph their destination engagements the same evening he proposed. So, we met at Schwabacher’s Landing after they’d had a chance to do some additional hiking, grab some lunch and get ready. I love when the one who is proposing thinks ahead and plans an engagement session afterwards too!
Schwabacher’s Landing is one of my favorite locations for all types of photo shoots. It’s easy to access, has plenty of variety I especially love it because it’s an all-in-one package: You have water, grass and sagebrush, and sometimes wildlife. We even got lucky enough to see an elk at the end of our shoot! This location also has an iconic view of the Tetons and is the perfect location for a destination engagement session.
These two are so up for effortlessly in love. Their photo shoot was an absolute dream to capture. What I loved most was that Kayla came with some of her own ideas of what she would like to capture and document. I think that we did a really good job of doing that! She loves the motion photos where they’re walking, moving, dancing, and just allowing their romance to really show. I was so honored to be able to meet with them and capture the proposal and their engagements. It was really just such a joy to share that moment with them! Sunset golden hour is my favorite time of day at Schwabacher’s Landing. It gives us these deep but warm blues in the summer time and I love the glow!
