In October, we traveled to Washington to photograph a wedding. It was going to be a short trip due to bookings back in Jackson Hole, but I wanted to make the most of it. We booked hotel rooms at the Oregon beach for my parents, sister, and us. It was the best, shortest trip ! We explored the beaches together, ate yummy food, and played games late into the night. Before leaving my parents house to head to the coast, I foraged my mother’s flower beds. I put together this fun and vibrant wild bouquet with flowers from her garden. I’m always in awe of what florists create, and it was soothing to create something of my own!
Thrifted Romper Dress for Styled Elopement
I contacted Georgia about modeling for me and she and her boyfriend agreed! Georgia owns a successful spray tanning company called Glow By Georgia, which is how we met. She did spray tans for two of my clients a few years ago and I’ve followed her since! I envisioned an elopement style vibe for the photos and Georgia found the perfect outfit. She shopped at a local boutique called Haute Madre that is a haven for thrifters. Instead of a full dress, she chose a trendy romper with a skirt. You guys, I am a sucker for rompers and jumpsuits! I loved that it wasn’t fully lined. It’s all the summer vibes rolled into an early fall shoot.
Foggy Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock
The weather is typically more mild in Washington in the fall, so we had beautiful sunny days at my parents house. At the coast though, we were totally socked in! I loved the bouncing light that all of the clouds gave us, while still allowing me to be true to my shooting and editing style. Cannon Beach was everything I hoped it would be! We started at the Ecola State Park area and made our way down to Haystack Rock. The Oregon Coast is truly magnificent and these two just made it heaven!
