Josh and Zach came on a trip to Grand Teton National Park to celebrate their anniversary! They booked me about a week before their session date to capture some anniversary photos. With our schedules, only a mid-morning session would work. With the Tetons facing southeast, mornings can be a challenge. The lighting is harsher and people have to face the sun so the mountains show behind them. But, I will say that I don’t hate how it makes the mountains show up in photos for my couples. So, if they’re willing to put up with the light in their eyeballs, then I am willing to do morning sessions anytime for them!
They were so much fun to work with and welcoming of all of my ideas for poses. They had a few ideas as well which I welcomed. I found it so much easier to pose them than I was anticipating. I was a little bit nervous because I have limited experience photographing LGBTQ couples, and just wasn’t sure how posing might be different. Throughout the session, I just used the same poses that I’m used to doing with all of my couples and it turned out beautifully. Josh and Zach left me the sweetest review as well. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to photograph them and meet them and celebrate their anniversary with them!
My couple decided to meet at Moulton Barn on Mormon Row for their anniversary photos. I’ve photographed this location much more this year. It has been really fun to find new and different angles and ways to include both the mountains and the barn in photos for my clients. I’ve found an angle that I really love photographing that includes the whole barn and the majority of the main Teton range and that is showcased below!
