The blog is a collection of wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
My husband and I rented snowshoes from BYU-Idaho’s ORC for this amazing Teton Snowshoe Engagement Photos session. Sarah and Brad hired me for their intimate wedding in the Teton mountains. The day before their wedding, we all went snowshoeing together for the ultimate adventure session! It was the perfect opportunity to get rid of wedding jitters and get to know each other more without the wedding day pressure.
We discussed a few different location ideas for our snowshoe adventure, but ultimately settled on Taggart Lake Trailhead. This is a beautiful trail in the summer, fall, and winter. My family has hiked it many times in the summer, and my husband and I have attempted it in the winter. We ran out of time and didn’t make it all the way to the lake the first time. Luckily, we made it the day of Sarah and Brad’s session!
I highly recommend this trail year round, it’s absolutely stunning. It’s one of my favorite locations anyways, so having it accessible year round is nice. The entire snowshoeing and photo time was about 3 hours for the loop. If we had just done the short section as an “in-n-out” trail, we would have been done in about 2 hours. I’m so glad we took the long way back because we got to see two moose, not far off the trail. It was a surprise to us all, but a good reminder that wildlife still roams at all times of the year. We did carry bear spray, because you just never know (some go into hibernation later than others).
If you’re considering booking an adventure session, let’s do it! This Teton Snowshoe Engagement Photos session should be enough to get the wheels turning about all the possibilities. What would you do on your adventure session? Contact me today and let’s get it scheduled for you!
