Taylynn and Brigham got engaged just a few days after Christmas! They are starting off the new year by planning a wedding, and all that goes with it. Because they are a long-distance couple, they wanted to plan snowy engagement photos for a weekend together. Winter engagements in the mountains are beautiful. The weather can also be harsh, which is why it’s good to keep an eye on the weather and make plans accordingly. When we were given a high wind advisory for the area we had planned their engagement session, we decided to reschedule. Luckily, the next day proved to be much more mild!
Brigham’s family has property and a home out near the Tetons, with an amazing view of the mountains. It wasn’t quite clear enough to see all of the Tetons during their session, which was a bummer. But the sky gave us some beautiful color to work with! Their snowy engagement photos will be perfect on their wedding announcements. These two were naturals together. Like most people, they were both a little nervous about being in front of the camera. Luckily, with a bit of posing help, my fake laugh (you know what I’m talking about if I’ve taken photos of you), and letting them being cozy together got them comfortable for great pictures!
Taylynn asked me if I had any recommendations for what to wear. For snowy engagement photos, I recommend clothing that isn’t too bright. You can still have color! But I recommend using muted and bold colored clothing versus bright and overly saturated tones. They chose great colors to contrast the snow, that also complimented each other’s outfits.
