Wedding trends are every changing, and as a Jackson Hole wedding photographer, I can’t wait for those changes to come. New season means new opportunities for wedding themes, locations, and so much more. With seasons just on the cusp of changing, we’re breaking down all of our favorite spring wedding trends. And if you’re choosing to elope or get married in Jackson Hole, a lot of the trends can be accomplished so easily here! Whether you’re looking for a romantic chic wedding, an intimate elopement, or even a minimalistic themed day, we’ve got it all. Let’s dive into 2022’s spring wedding trends!
As seasons change, colors found outdoors change too. Spring is such a beautiful time of year to get married in Jackson, with all things coming back to life! This spring, brides are focusing on celebrating greenery, and the soft colors found in nature, on their big day.
Brides are incorporating the freshness and simplicity of greenery in their weddings more and more, and I’m here for it! It provides such an elegant and classic feel while not breaking the bank! I’ve even had brides find faux eucalyptus and other greenery for affordable prices on Amazon. Consider keeping in simple for your spring wedding and have greenery, few florals, and candles as your center pieces. It’ll bring a cozy, family vibe to your event, while avoiding looking busy, allowing spring’s beauty to shine.
Flowers are always one of my favorite parts of any wedding, and totally bring the event together. Whether that’s simply a bridal bouquet, or a floral arch, flowers are a must for any spring wedding. Most popular trends for spring weddings are bright pops of color to celebrate spring, pampas grass, greenery, and simply white bouquets.
Planning your spring wedding and finding the perfect venue is one of the most stressful parts, consider a destination elopement! Run off to the beach, or even the mountains of beautiful Jackson Hole. The weather is perfect, and you can make a vacation out of it. I always encourage couples to elope somewhere they’ve always wanted to go, after you are announced as a married couple, honeymoon at your destination! If you decide to elope in Jackson Hole (which you totally should!), check out my blog covering all activities to do in the spring.
With the world beginning to open up again, consider going international for your destination elopement! Take in the sights of Greece for your spring wedding, or anywhere in Europe. It’s time to celebrate your love and the beginning of your life together at a bucket list location. Consider bringing your photographer with you! You’ve already fell in love with them, and trust them, so bring them along for the ride and embrace the spontaneity of a destination elopement.
More and more couples are opting for an intimate spring wedding with just closest family in a dreamy location for their vows. Couples are spending more time planning honeymoons than the actual wedding itself! Intimate weddings are always some of my favorites because it truly focuses on the couple and their love. There’s no fuss over all the little details, but what matters most, their love.
Consider an intimate elopement ceremony in a national park like Grand Teton National Park. Locations like these are incredible breathtaking, totally romantic, and won’t break the bank! Reach out if you need help planning your intimate wedding ceremony, I’ve got all the best tips.
Throughout your spring wedding, decorations are key to bringing together your overall theme and vibe of your day. Popular spring wedding trends for 2022 include, acrylic wedding signs (welcome signs, seating charts, even name tags), metallic decor (silverware, chandeliers), wood details, neon signs, and unique lighting elements. Couples are leaning into embracing the spring season with decor and it’s beautiful. The flowers, the outdoor elements, it’s a wedding trend that I’m totally obsessed with.
At your wedding reception, consider adding personal and unique touches with your guest book! A recent wedding trend that has picked up in popularity has been interactive guest sign in books. I’ve shot weddings where the couples had a polaroid sign in book, interactive paint experiences, puzzles, and even game pieces. It’s an easy and simple way to let your guests see a personal side of your relationship.
Planning to feed your guests at your spring wedding? Invite some of your favorite food trucks to cater your big event. Food trucks are all the rage, and a fun way to bring the party outdoors and give your guests an interactive experience to remember forever! Whether you’re a taco loving couple, or even a couple who loves some burgers from In-n-Out, your options are endless with food trucks.
What’s a wedding without some form of a wedding cake, right? Couples are opting for show-stopping cakes this season with cakes debuting bright colors, metallic elements and even incredible drip details. While some couples are continuing the minimalist route, and having mini cakes for guests to enjoy. Not cupcakes, but simply mini cakes, with tiers and the whole thing for each guest! So maybe not minimalistic but, incredible unique!
The moment we’ve all been waiting for, the dress. Wedding dress trends come and go, but one thing remains the same, the wedding dress is the star of the show. This season top trends include bridal pieces (capes, two pieces, etc), puffy sleeves, corset details, and texture. Having elements like these on your dress are a great way to bring your whole wedding day together, whether you’re opting for a romantic beach wedding, or an elegant outdoor wedding, your wedding dress has to fit the environment!
Brides are also opting for a ceremony dress, and a reception or party outfit change to let loose and have fun with friends and family. Whether that’s a simple dress change with shortening it, a completely new dress, or adding a fun leather jacket to ride away in. All the elements that make up your personality are a unique way to make your event more about you!
Nevertheless while planning your big day, do what makes you happy, even if your idea isn’t found on a ‘trends’ list. It’s your day and should have elements and decor that you love, so throw expectation to the wind, and plan your dream day celebrating your love story however you see it.
