Every wedding is made unique by the people celebrating the start of their marriage. But some like to take it to the next level and do something truly unique for their wedding. Over the years as a Jackson Hole Wedding Photographer, I’ve seen some great non-traditional wedding ideas. Here are some of my favorite ways that these couples incorporated their personalities into their wedding!
Let’s start with the non-traditional wedding attire! This is a really fun way to make your personality shine on your wedding day.
I’ve seen several different colors of wedding dresses, but one of my favorites is a gorgeous black gown one of my Jackson Hole winter brides wore. She paired it with a stunning fur coat to help keep in the warmth.
Patterned dresses are also a unique way to include personality into your attire.
If you’re getting married in the summer, you definitely might want to consider a short wedding dress! Summer heat can become overwhelming during the day, so a short dress helps keep you cooler, while looking incredibly stylish.
This couple decided to wear some true jean tuxedos! Both in denim bottoms made this wedding duo very unique. Wearing pants on your wedding day opens up some fun posing ideas too!
An easy accessory to add or remove from your look, is a great hat. For both guys and gals alike, wearing a hat can help provide protection from the elements too!
Serving food that might not be considered as elegant or formal is one of my favorite Non-Traditional Wedding Ideas.
I’m a sucker for a good pizza. If I had to chose one food to eat everyday for the rest of my life, it would be a close call between pizza and tacos. This couple served several different pescatarian pizza options at their wedding during happy hour.
Don’t come at me for saying this, but I actually don’t like the texture of cake that much. So when this couple said they were going to be serving donuts for their wedding, I was very excited. They even asked my favorite donut flavor (maple!), and had a whole slew flavors available for their guests.
Another favorite dessert makes the list. This wedding couple decided to have a pie-cutting instead of a cake-cutting during their wedding. With so many flavors available for pies, it’s a no-brainer to make this a customizable option for couples.
While this was a complete accident, I fell in love with this colored wedding cake. Something happened with the frosting that made it change colors, but look how cute it is!
Whether you’re dipping your toes, or jumping all in, getting in the water is a good time! This is ideal for the warmer months of the year since the water comes straight from the snow in Grand Teton National Park.
Being baptized after your wedding ceremony is a really incredible experience for everyone involved. I love being a part of moments that are so special and important to my clients.
It can be tricky to find vendors who are on board with an early morning call time, but getting married in the morning is a great elopement option. There are typically less tourists around, and the details of the mountain peaks are more visible. However, this can also create harsher shadows and squinty eyes since the mountains face east.
Bring your pets along! They are part of your family and we want to include them. We’ll help you know some of the safe places where your pets can join in on the fun.
Be treated like a princess by arriving or departing in a horse-drawn carriage. Whether it’s western or romantic vibe, this is an entrance no one will expect!
Some of my favorite unique wedding photos are the ones including your car. Whether you’re in it, next to it, or on it!
By far one of my new favorite Non-Traditional Wedding Ideas is to have after party photos! Take some cozy photos of the two of you at the end of the night. We won’t get too crazy, but this will give you a few somewhat steamy photos to enjoy as a couple.
