Working with Dustin and Sabrina on their Snake River Overlook Winter Elopement was so magical. Before their ceremony, I met with Sabrina to take some pin-up photos and getting ready photos. Adding a pin-up or boudoir session is a new option I started sharing with brides. It’s best for right after hair and makeup has been finished, and before getting into your dress. Brides can bring multiple outfits, and we usually spend 30-45 minutes for the pin-up photos. It’s a fun addition to your wedding day!
After the getting ready photos were finished, the couple had a first look outdoors. They stayed at the beautiful Rustic Creek Inn, and had their first look right by the river. The view here is drastically different in the winter, but so fitting for them!
Snake River Overlook Winter Elopement
Then, it was time to get hitched! We traveled out to Snake River Overlook, which is even more beautiful in the winter. We moved some snow aside so they would have a place to stand, and enjoyed the incredible view. Their ceremony was officiated by their good friend, and it included dancing, vows, and so much love!
I highly recommend having a friend or family member officiate your wedding if you’ll be traveling with them for your event. It’s such a personal touch to add to your wedding day! However, there are times when hiring an officiant is desired and I have a great list of recommendations for you if that’s the case. I love working with the local officiants often as well!
Formal Portraits at Taggart Lake Trailhead
I always recommend at least 2 hours for your elopement photography coverage. This is for a few different reasons, but mostly it’s so that you are not rushed. If there are any family or friend photos you want to include, we need to plan for that. Ceremonies don’t take typically take a lot of time, but may still be 10-15 minutes. Then any family or friend photos next, and time for you to take couple portraits of course! Having the additional time allows you to soak it all in and still have room for couple portraits at a secondary location. You’ll enjoy the variety of views in your photos. Trust me, this is always a good plan!
