Spring Photo Session in the Tetons

Spring is a wonderful time to visit the Tetons. The weather is becoming more enjoyable but isn’t scorching summer heat yet. The snow is melting in the lower elevations, but the glaciers of the Tetons stay beautifully white. This draws so much contrast to the mountain faces and makes them really pop against the blue skies. Spring is also a bit less busy than summer, which makes it one of the best times of the year for Jackson Hole Anniversary Portraits!

Are dogs allowed in Grand Teton National Park?

This is a great question! As a general rule of thumb, the answer is no. The park doesn’t allow dogs on trails or in the backcountry. When dogs are in the park, they must be on a 6 foot leash in parking lots and within 30 feet of a road. This is to keep you and your animals safe, as well as not to disrupt wildlife. My advice to most people traveling to the Tetons is to leave their pets at home. If you are wanting to explore the national park to it’s fullest, your fur buddy won’t be able to come along on 99% of your adventures.

There are a few doggy daycares if you need those services. If you plan to stick to the national forest land for your recreating, you have a lot more options! This couple wasn’t staying in the area for the majority of their trip, so bringing the dogs along for their Jackson Hole Anniversary Portraits didn’t hinder their plans for the day!
