The blog is a collection of wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
Elizabeth and Nolan’s Della Terra Mountain Chateau Colorado Wedding Photography was such a dream come true. They were married in a ceremony surrounded by their close family and friends. I say close, but it really was a big party! I can’t wait to go back to Colorado for a wedding. If you’re planning an elopement, micro wedding, or a big party wedding, I would absolutely love to connect with you.
We kicked the day off with getting ready photos with the bride and her bridesmaids and wedding attendance. This group of lovely people were so welcoming and I just really enjoyed getting to spend time with them. It was also especially fun to see Elizabeth’s mom and Nolan’s mom there too. They were present during their 2021 Inspiration Point Proposal. After the bride was in her wedding dress, we had fun in their suite with the lighting situation. There was a big skylight above the bed and I asked the bride if she’d hop on the bed for a few photos. She said yes!
We facilitated a first look with the bride and her wedding attendants. This was such a special moment to capture for her and them! She had the best group of bridesmaids to be by her side. Then Elizabeth and Nolan shared a first look among the trees at the venue. Elizabeth decided to “Ice” the groomsmen and pull a prank on them. Once they turned around, they could see she was holding Smirnoff’s in her hands. She had one for each of them. They got down on one knee and tried to chug the entire bottle.
After the first looks, we headed into Rocky Mountain National Park. We had a photography permit to do couple portraits in a few different locations. We really were more limited on time than hoped for, so we only did pictures in one location that we had scouted out previously. It ended up being such a great use of our time. Horseshoe Park had a lot of variety in one spot and allowed us to have a little bit more time to do bridal party photos. If you’re exploring the world of Colorado Wedding Photography or Rocky Mountain National Park elopements, this is a great location to capture some of the essence without having to enter the park too far.
Their wedding ceremony was absolutely perfect for them. They are both meteorologists and work at one of the best weather stations in the nation. We had been looking at the forecast constantly all week trying to determine what kind of weather we were going to have. Luckily, we really didn’t have anything that was crazy! The Bride’s cousin officiated the wedding ceremony and during the ceremony is started to sprinkle just a little bit. It couldn’t be more perfect for these meteorologists to have a little bit of unpredicted weather in their wedding day. I guess you just can’t get away from the job!
After their ceremony they celebrated with heartfelt toast, a lovely sit down dinner and finish the night off with dancing! I have never been at a wedding that has had this many people on the dance floor consistently all night. It was an absolute party house and I loved seeing everybody having so much fun. Their DJ did a wonderful job. They also have first dances that were very memorable to say the least. Elizabeth did a first dance with her mom and her brother and Nolan did a first dance with his mom.
During the dance with Nolan and his mom, his grandfather sang a song that he had performed at other weddings – but most especially at the wedding of Nolan’s parents. I thought that was the absolute sweetest touch to include on their wedding day. Elizabeth opted to change into her second wedding day dress for the first dance and the rest of the party. There was a little bit of a mishap during her and Nolan’s dance where one of the straps broke, but luckily she was able to hold on to it until they could finish the dance and get it safety pinned back together.
If you’re considering a wedding in Estes Park, Colorado. Look no farther than the Della Terra Mountain Chateau. It is located right outside the Rocky Mountain National Park gates and is the perfect venue for your wedding, large or small. Because of its proximity to the national park, it’s incredibly easy to spend part of the day at the venue and in the park getting photos taken. Some couples also opt for an intimate vow reading in the park and have their ceremony surrounded by family and friends at the wedding venue. Go check it out!
Special thanks to all the incredible vendors who helped this wedding day flow flawlessly.
