The blog is a collection of wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
You’re engaged and you’ve chosen the majestic Grand Teton mountains as your backdrop! I’m so glad you’re thinking about eloping in Jackson Hole! There is no shortage of incredible places, people, and things to do here. If you’ve never been to the Tetons before, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. So let’s start here.
My name is Janelle and I want to be your Grand Teton Elopement Photographer! These mountains are in my blood and have a hold on my heart. While I didn’t grow up in Wyoming, my ancestors are from these mountains and I visited often during my childhood. After moving back to the area (17 years ago) and photographing my first elopement in Grand Teton National Park (8 years ago), I knew this would be a big part of my life. I describe my style as traditional, colorful, dreamy, timeless, detailed, and romantic. I hope you’ll choose to share your wedding day with me and do me the honor of being your Jackson Hole photographer!
You might ask yourself how to make it all come together. Don’t worry, I’ve put together some resources for the most highly rated vendors I’ve personally worked with and recommend whole heartedly. In addition, I’m sharing how to do things in a simple way with big impact. So, here is your guide on How to Elope in Jackson Hole!
When you’re considering Jackson Hole Elopement Locations, think about what your guest list looks like. Will it be the two of you with only the necessary officiant and witnesses? Will you have a small guest list, mid-size micro-wedding, or will you need a venue that can hold a large guest list?
Any wedding or commitment ceremonies within Grand Teton National Park require couples to submit a permit application and pay a $200 fee. There are site specific permits (25 people) available as well as dispersed ceremony permits (up to 12 people). The park service has done a great job of choosing locations with amazing views and easy accessibility. More information on these locations can be found on my GTNP Ceremony Permits blog.
Colter Bay Swim Beach
Wedding Tree: This location is part of the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Under coordination with Friends of BTNF, you can schedule a ceremony at this location. The fee is also $200.
If you prefer or require a wedding venue for part or the entirety of your wedding day, check out some of these ideas. Prices range widely, but there are so many great options in Teton Village, Jackson Hole, and Moran. Some venues also offer accommodations for you and your guests.
You’ll definitely need a wedding officiant if you plan to have your legal wedding ceremony in Jackson Hole. A list of officiants and marriage license information can be found at the Teton County website. I’ve been able to work with several officiants in the area and highly recommend the following. If you need help finding contact information for any of them, feel free to reach out!
You may want to get glammed up for your wedding day. Or maybe something simpler but that still draws out your natural beauty and best features. Having beauty services on your wedding day is totally optional. However, I do find that most of my clients like to book hair and makeup. I’ve got just the names for you!
I’ve been working with Tanya’s beauty team for over the last 5 years. She’s curated a group of amazing professional women to help you shine on your wedding day. Because of these, they are able to serve hundreds of brides every year in Jackson Hole. Trudi Day is also an incredible choice with her kindness and expertise. She will make you feel and look amazing! More recently I’ve also had the enjoyment of working with Autym’s Beauty. She’s so sweet and talented.
Don’t be disappointed in your wedding day beauty services, hire one of these teams and you’ll be in great hands!
There are incredible floral options in the valley for your wedding day. Because most elopements are small events, it’s important to find a florist who will work with your limited needs for florals. Because of this, I recommend all of my clients to JH Flower Boutique. They have been willing to work with clients who need only a bouquet or boutonniere. I also highly recommend MD Floral, Embrace Event Co, Plush Floral, Jackson Hole Flower Co, Flowers by Chloe, and Teton Valley Gardens.
I’m down for an adventure on your wedding day! Want to rent a helicopter? Take a horseback ride? Hike into your ceremony? I’d love to discuss these options with you!
I hope these recommendations will help you elope in Jackson Hole! Being your Jackson Hole Elopement Photographer would truly be a dream. Simple elopements with ceremony and portraits begin at $2500. All day coverage or elopements including epic adventures begins at $7750.
