What better way to spend a September day than with a Fall Mormon Row Proposal! While the summer crowds begin to die down in the fall, the color enthusiasts come out in droves. Fall is one of my favorite months in the Tetons – not because it’s quiet, but because the weather is perfect and the colors start to change. This surprise proposal at Mormon Row was a perfect example of why that season never gets old. Crisp air, golden grasses, and the quiet kind of beauty you only get for a few weeks out of the year. It set the stage for a moment that didn’t need any extras to feel big.
The proposal happened right at Mormon Row, with the Tetons standing tall behind them like they always have. It was simple and full of meaning. After the “yes,” we stayed close and took time to wander the area for portraits. Of course, no session at Mormon Row is complete without stopping at one of the iconic Moulton Barns. They are popular for a reason. That weathered wood, the open field, and the mountains beyond create a timeless backdrop.
Once we wrapped up there, we headed over to Schwabacher Landing to finish the engagement session. The beginning of fall colors lined the riverbanks and the serene water lends a calm to the towering mountains. Another very popular location in the fall, you won’t regret visiting Schwabacher Landing for pictures.
Their outfits fit the setting beautifully without trying too hard. She wore a red patterned, knee-length dress paired with western boots and a hat—bold, seasonal, and practical enough to move comfortably. He kept it classic with a button-up shirt, vest, jeans, and a Wyoming ball cap. Together, they looked like themselves, which matters more than anything.
Outfit tip: choose pieces that reflect your personality and the landscape. Rich fall colors photograph beautifully, structured layers add texture, and boots are always a smart choice for Jackson Hole. Trends come and go, but being yourself is always in.
