Mountain wedding photography becomes extra magical when couples like Clint and Tracey choose the dramatic peaks of Grand Teton National Park as their backdrop. After handling their legal ceremony back home, this adventurous couple celebrated their marriage where they most desired, surrounded by the stunning Tetons.
Clint and Tracey took a stress-free approach to their destination wedding. They completed all the legal requirements near their hometown, avoiding extra logistics. Sometimes it can feel to complicated to find an officiant, securing witnesses, and obtaining an out-of-state marriage license. This allowed them to focus entirely on creating breathtaking images in the location of their dreams.
We worried about the weather leading up to their session. Snow had blanketed the area the weekend before, and late October in the mountains can be unpredictable. Fortunately, their wedding day blessed us with brilliant sunshine and just enough remaining snow to add winter wonderland touches to some of their photos.
Our mountain wedding photography adventure began at Jenny Lake, a location Clint and Tracey chose after reviewing my location guide. Pockets of snow lingered in shaded areas and dusted the bridge, creating the magical seasonal variety they craved. Clint’s style was unforgettable. He rocked an elevated cowboy aesthetic with jeans, a black paisley-embossed suit jacket featuring leather lapels with floral details and his monogram, topped with a vest, scarf, and black hat. Tracey stunned in a satin gown adorned with lacy, beaded embellishments and illusion backing that caught the light beautifully.
Mormon Row provided our second location, and did not disappoint. The Antelope Flats offer golden grasses, weathered barns, rustic corrals, and sagebrush framed by snow-capped peaks. It was easy to see why this was their first choice. The couple prioritized romantic portraits among the grasses and along the corral fencing with those iconic Teton views, though we captured a few barn shots too.
We wrapped their session with a quick stop at the Elk Antler Arches in downtown Jackson Hole, then crossed the street to the famous Million Dollar Cowboy Bar for shots with those beloved neon lights.
