The blog is a collection of wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
Mikenzie & Torin chose to have a Teton elopement with private vows. After much discussion about how to keep their ceremony simple, and working through all the logistics, they chose to have a ceremony in Idaho. Early in the morning they prepared for their legal ceremony with the mayor of Driggs performing it for them. Then, following their ceremony, they prepared for wedding portraits. After hair and makeup by Teton Valley Beauty Co, and picking up their flowers from MD Floral, they headed over the pass to explore the mountains more fully.
We started their photos in the bright sun at Cathedral Group Turnout inside Grand Teton National Park. This is one of my favorite locations, no matter the time of day. The peaks are viewed from a unique angle, and there isn’t usually very many tourists hanging out. Our next location was Oxbow Bend. It was so nice to finally explore this location from a photographer’s viewpoint and see everything it had to offer. It’s simply stunning and sunsets are very popular here!
Our next stop was a brief one at the Snake River Overlook. The trees have grown so much and the stone wall makes getting photos of the river and couple together a little tricky. However, here I was also able to try out some new angles and I really love how they turned out!
The second to last location was the very spot they got engaged! Right on the edge of the GTNP and BTNF boundaries is the “Shane Cabin”. The cabin was used in the old cowboy film “Shane” from 1953. This is where Mikenzie and Torin became engaged on one of their previous trips to the Tetons! It’s also where they chose to read their special private vows and exchange rings.
Schwabacher Landing was the final photo stop on our “Grand” tour of the Tetons. We had a gorgeous spring evening with lush grass tones and glowy backlight. Here we captured more bride and groom details, they snuggled under her veil, and twirled beneath the mountain peaks.
