Ellie & Blake celebrated their marriage with an intimate Micro Wedding in Jackson Hole. On their wedding day I had the honor of photographing various portions of their day. Our bride decided to do a first look with her dad, but wanted to save the first look with her husband to be for when she walked down the “aisle”. So, we had to make sure the groom had already left the premises and then did their first look with dad at the airbnb area.
Afterwards, we headed to Schwabacher Landing where family and friends attended their sweet ceremony. Family photos were all taken in this area as well. The sun causes a lot of flares in cameras at certain angles and lengths at this time of day, so keep that in mind when planning your ceremony! Lastly, we ended the evening with portraits at Mormon Row.
If you’re considering a spring wedding in the Tetons, I recommend the last two weeks of May to mid June, before the summer equinox! Spring is always a fickle time of year, and more so in the mountains. This time frame gives the snow time to melt, the grasses time to green up, and trees to start leafing out.
As an added bonus, the videographer wanted to use a location at Mormon Row I had never used before. There is a stunning little patch of Lupine if you hit it in the right season. I wish it had a more unobstructed view of the mountains from this patch, but the added pops of color and the softness of the flowers added such a romantic touch to these photos.
Micro Weddings in Jackson Hole are a wonderful way to celebrate the start of your marriage. With spaces inside the park that can accommodate up to 25 or 40 persons, there are so many options. The larger sites fill their permits quickly, so it’s good to have some backup venue options in mind!
