Maggie and Stephen’s Blacktail Ponds Wedding Ceremony in late August showcased the breathtaking beauty of Grand Teton National Park. This intimate celebration unfolded with pure magic from start to finish.
Before their ceremony, we captured portraits at the iconic Mormon Row. Logistics prevented a traditional first look, so we made the most of this stunning location for pre-ceremony photos. Maggie looked absolutely radiant in her lace confectionary dress featuring sheer long sleeves with intricate embroidery details. The gown showcased a dramatic low-cut bodice and empire waist, flowing into a layered skirt adorned with delicate appliques. She carried a vibrant bouquet bursting with pinks, purples, and yellows that perfectly complemented the Wyoming landscape. Stephen looked sharp in his classic black suit, creating a timeless contrast.
With their small wedding party, Maggie and Stephen secured a dispersed ceremony permit for Blacktail Ponds Overlook, which accommodates 12 guests or fewer. Their best friend officiated the ceremony, hiding the wedding script inside a gorgeous printed edition of Brandon Sanderson’s “Isles of the Emberdark” from the Cosmere universe. The bride’s sister held their vow books as they exchanged promises with the Tetons as their witness.
After sealing their marriage with a kiss, they shared hugs with their loved ones and celebrated with cupcakes from “Bake Me Vegan” in Wilson, WY. This local baker created delicious treats that were both vegan-friendly and allergen-free, proving dietary restrictions don’t mean sacrificing flavor. The couple fed each other bites of cupcake, adding a sweet and personal touch to their celebration. Cupcakes offer wonderful variety for small gatherings.
We ended the evening at Schwabacher Landing as the sun dipped behind the mountains. The golden sunset light created the perfect backdrop for guest photos and countless couple portraits. Maggie and Stephen moved together effortlessly, their connection evident in every frame. They even requested a formal photo with me—an honor I always appreciate (my selfies just aren’t the same!).
