At the beginning of March I worked with Labelle Lake, Meadow Mama, and Wedding and Party Exchange, to put together a winter styled shoot. Labelle Lake features lush green grounds in their spring, summer, and fall months. But, in the winter time they don’t have as many weddings because their indoor space is a bit smaller. We really wanted to showcase what a winter wedding at LaBelle Lake could look like, both inside and outside the cabin. Idaho received a lot of snow this year, and it was still thick on the ground the first two weeks of March. As we dreamed about what to do for this shoot, we thought of all these warm tones, intimate feeling spaces, and something that would really bring an elegance to the more rustic vibe of the cabin.
We set out to make the outdoor space appealing to couples considering a winter wedding. Our goal was to show couples that an outdoor ceremony could be absolutely stunning with all of the snow. Labelle Lake offers several different sizes of these hexagon arches, and other styles also. We paired this arch with flowy gauze and floral pieces from Wedding and Party Exchange. Many winter weddings tend to go kind of dark on the color palette and we wanted to keep things a little bit more fresh and warm, so we chose these pink and lilac florals for the arch.
Maddy from Meadow Mama Co. put together a beautiful floral arrangement as a wedding bouquet. She snuck in pinks and greens but still kept the overall vibe of the bouquet traditional and monochromatic. This was my first time working with Maddy, but I know her from church. She is the absolute sweetest person and did such a wonderful job on the bouquet! She was also on site for the photo shoot and helped arrange the floral arrangements on the arches and tables.
We showcased the grounds and the cabin structure, as well as the indoor spaces that LaBelle Lake has to offer. When we moved indoor for the reception stylized portion, I knew I really wanted to do something with the romantic fireplace. We wanted it to be cozy and welcoming and just bring a little bit of luxuriousness to the space.
Crystal at Wedding Party Exchange is actually the one that thought of doing grapes as part of the centerpieces on the table. We purchased fresh grapes and donuts to go on the tiered appetizer servers! I love donuts and after finally having them at a. And I just adored how classy they looked despite being a junk food! Paired with the grapes and other deep purple tones as well as the delicate glasses and chargers I appreciated how elegant the dinner tables looked.
Lillian and Ryan are such a genuine couple, and it was so fun to have them in front of my camera!
