Hiram surprised Audrey with a hiking proposal at Taggart Lake! Her family had planned a trip to the Tetons so he decided to propose to her while in this beautiful place. Her sister was in on all the plans, but her parents only knew it was happening, not when or where! They all prepared for a hike at Taggart Lake trail. Audrey’s sister, tried to coach her to wearing a ‘cuter’ hiking outfit, and I loved the ensemble she chose!

Setting the stage for the proposal

Before the hike, Hiram sent me a photo of them, as well as what colors they were wearing. We we’re able to keep in communication for most of the hike even! My family set up our hammocks in one section along the shoreline and my brother acted as our scout so I could have a heads up when they were arriving.  When they came up the trail, Hiram guided Audrey out to some of the shoreline rocks and proposed! Her mom was totally surprised, and she was too! Audrey thought he was being so rude to come through our trail area but it was all part of the plan.

We took photos all along the lake and trail back down to the parking lot. This has been one of our favorite family hikes, so it was fun to experience it with a client and take these photos in places I’ve never photographed a client before! They were adventurous enough to climb on a big rock for some of their engagement photos.
