These Schwabacher’s Landing family photos were so dreamy! With wildfire smoke heavy in the air, we were really worried the Tetons wouldn’t be visible at all for their session. Anything can happen with weather in the Tetons. We hoped for wind to push out the lingering smoke, but it didn’t come before this family’s photoshoot. Luckily, we got beautiful backlight that allowed the mountain peaks to show up. The hazy smoke turned a beautiful pink that complimented the family’s outfits.
Schwabacher’s Landing Family Photos
Schwabacher’s Landing is one of my absolute favorite family photo locations in Jackson Hole Wyoming. While it’s part of Grand Teton National Park, it doesn’t require a park pass to enjoy. It has a small dirt parking lot that can get pretty busy in the middle of the day. However, since it doesn’t have any lengthy trails coming off of the parking lot, the traffic stays to a minimum. I love this location for all kinds of photoshoots. It has a beautiful mix of water, grasses, trees and mountain views. The mountain views are the most iconic view in the park of the Tetons. These Schwabacher’s Landing Family Photos are some of my favorite family pictures I’ve ever taken!
Camping with Friends at Gros Ventre Campground
Amanda and I are really good friends and had talked about doing family photos in the Tetons over the summer. So we packed up our families and drove over early to get a campsite at Gros Ventre in Grand Teton National Park. The park system has now moved to an online reservation system, but last year they were still first come, first serve. This made for a lot of really early mornings on our part because campsites were known to fill up by 10am on the weekdays!
Because the campsites were filling up so quickly each day, the camp hosts allowed our families to share a site (we exceeded the max number of persons). This allowed them to give more families campsites, and was a lot of fun for our kids to enjoy!
