A Meaningful Mountain Ceremony

Katie chose Jackson Hole for their wedding because her mom is from the area, making this destination deeply personal despite the couple not being big outdoorsy types themselves. The ceremony at The Wedding Tree held beautiful family touches throughout—Katie wore her mother’s wedding dress, while her cousin honored tradition by wearing the same dress Katie wore as a flower girl at her mother’s wedding years ago.

Katie’s dad walked her down the aisle to meet Elliot, who waited to see his bride for the first time during the ceremony. They chose to skip the first look, making that aisle walk even more emotional. Cindy Dahlin officiated their vows as Katie and Elliot exchanged their I dos, rings, and celebrated with a champagne toast.

Personal Details That Tell Your Story

The couple honored loved ones who have passed with small framed photos—Katie attached hers to her bouquet while Elliot kept his pinned inside his suit coat. For portraits, we moved them to the outside of his jacket to capture this meaningful tribute. Katie’s Teton tattoo made for an incredibly unique shot with the actual mountain range creating a stunning backdrop.

Katie’s mom, a talented hairstylist, styled her daughter’s hair for the big day, while Beauty by Autym created her makeup look.

After their ceremony, the entire wedding party headed to Schwabacher Landing for portraits. The light was fading quickly, so we worked efficiently to capture important family photos before focusing on couple portraits. The evening blessed us with calm conditions and less intense wind than at The Wedding Tree, creating the perfect atmosphere for romantic photos.
