Shelby and Tyrel’s Jackson Hole bridal portraits at Schwabacher Landing are everything I love about photographing couples in the Tetons in fall. Peak aspen color, golden light, and a couple who made every single frame feel completely natural.
Shelby and Tyrel got engaged over the summer and jumped straight into planning their November wedding. In early September, I photographed their engagement session at String Lake, one of my favorite spots in Grand Teton National Park for its calm water and sweeping mountain views. The warmth between them was immediate, and those images set a beautiful tone for everything that followed.
We returned in late September for their formal session, with Shelby in her wedding dress and Tyrel in a sharp black suit with a rust orange tie. Schwabacher Landing blazed with peak fall color, and the two of them absolutely shone against it. Shelby’s gown was stunning with sheer long sleeves, a full lace overlay, a high neckline, and a skirt with plenty of movement. She finished the look with a shorter veil that caught the light beautifully.
The most touching detail of the day? Tyrel’s mom grew flowers in her own garden and hand-crafted Shelby’s bouquet just for these photos. That kind of love shows up in every image.
Getting to photograph Shelby and Tyrel across their engagement session, bridal portraits, and November wedding was such a gift. Watching their story unfold in three different corners of this valley reminded me exactly why Jackson Hole photos are some of my most treasured work. Every session tells its own chapter.
