Nick had a plan. Madi had no idea. The two got engaged earlier in their vacation, and Nick quietly arranged a Jackson Hole engagement session for later in the trip. He even texted me ahead of time asking about nearby stores. He wanted Madi to have options if she needed a new outfit since it was a surprise. She found the most perfect short blue patterned dress at TJ Maxx.
We met at Schwabacher Landing to take full advantage of the fall colors. The location absolutely delivered. We moved along the river first. Then we ducked into a grove of trees surrounded by golden leaves before heading back out to the river once the sun went down a little. Lastly, we finished photos on the upper bank where sagebrush surrounded them with the Tetons as a backdrop. The variety of images we got in such a short session was incredible and one of the reasons I love this location so much.
Their style fit the season perfectly. Madi wore her blue patterned dress with dainty heels. Nick wore a dark longsleeve blue shirt and layered a cream colored sweater over it for the last part of the session. They brought along their western hats for a few frames too. It added such a fun Wyoming feel to the gallery. Their outfits complemented each other and the location without even trying.
This session is exactly why I love what I do. Two people wildly in love, laughing in the sagebrush with the Tetons behind them. The joy was real and the photos show it. Nick’s thoughtfulness in planning every detail made the whole experience so special for Madi. That kind of love is worth capturing.
