As your Rexburg Wedding Photographer, I live for days like this one. It was such a lovely experience photographing a wedding closer to home. Shelby and Tyrel were married at the Rexburg Idaho Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in mid-November. No snow, warmer temps, and just a little wind? We’ll take it.
Before the ceremony, Shelby gathered with her bridal party, best friends, and mom at The Aisle in Sugar City, Idaho, the same venue that would host their dinner and reception later that evening. The bride’s room downstairs is a dream: two long vanity areas with mirrors, plenty of chairs, a bathroom with a shower, a gorgeous seating area, a trifold full-length mirror, and multiple spots to hang dresses. Everything a bride needs to feel calm, gorgeous, and surrounded by her people. Then the morning wrapped up with a first look between Shelby and her dad, one of my favorite moments to photograph.
Because of the sacredness surrounding weddings in the Temple, photographers are not allowed inside. I actually kind of love this as it allows the couple to just focus on the commitments they are making to each other, with their closest family and friends to witness it. After the wedding, the guests wait outside the temple for them to make a grand exit!
Back at The Aisle that evening, the celebration kicked into full gear. Family and friends gathered for a ring ceremony where Shelby and Tyrel exchanged rings and read their vows aloud. Their first dance followed, then dinner, heartfelt toasts, and a dance floor that stayed packed all night. They closed out the evening with a sparkler exit using light sticks, genius! Zero fire hazards.
Shelby and Tyrel, thank you for trusting me to document your day. It was such a joy from start to finish.
